Big Island: Ann Ebesuno
Except for the four years she was away at college, Ann has been a lifelong resident of Hilo. For almost nine years, Ann has been a board member of the Hawaii Island United Way and is also a member of the Mayor's Healthcare Task Force. She has also been involved with the American Cancer Society Relay For Life as a steering committee member. Ann and her husband Marvin have a daughter and two grandsons.
Kauai: Gerald Ako & Tommy Oi
Gerald was born and raised in Aiea. He is a graduate of Aiea High School and went on to attend the University of Hawaii. Gerald first met Mazie in 1994 during her run for lieutenant governor and has been a long time supporter ever since. He is married to Mia Ako and involved with Kauai AJA Baseball and the Kauai United Way.
Tommy was born and raised on Oahu, and has lived on Kauai since 1970. Last year, Tommy retired from the Department of Land and Natural Resources. He was part of the HGEA PAC that interviewed and endorsed Mazie for her lieutenant governor race in 1994 and has supported her since then. Tommy is vice president of the Lihue Honwanji Mission on Kauai and is a member of Kiwanis and the HGEA Retirees Unit. His son, and much of his family, lives on Oahu.
Lanai: Priscilla Felipe
Priscilla is a lifelong resident of the state of Hawaii and moved to Lanai at a young age. She attended Lanai Elementary and High School and spent summers on the Dole pineapple plantations. Priscilla has been an active member of the Lanai community for years, serving in various roles in her church, PTSA, and other community organizations. She currently lives with her husband Joe and has eight children.
Maui: David Raatz
David is a lawyer and community organizer. A graduate of the University of Southern California and Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, he has lived in Hawaii for two decades and has volunteered for all of Mazie's congressional campaigns. He has also volunteered for the Hawaiian Islands Land Trust, MoveOn, and Vote Maui. Dave admires Mazie for her courage, vision, and reliability.
Molokai: Nobu Shimizu
Nobu is a lifelong involved community member of Molokai and is known as a staunch supporter of the Democratic Party. His dedication to the party has led him to support many Democratic candidates through their campaigns. He knows Mazie is truly an exceptional candidate. Her steadfast dedication to her party and humanity as a whole makes her a worthy candidate.
Oahu: "Uncle" Joe Tassill
Uncle Joe is a longtime Mazie supporter. A lifelong Hawaii resident, he is a retired Capital Tour Coordinator and an appointee to the Hawaiian Homes Commission. Uncle Joe sign waves each week at our Honolulu headquarters on Nimitz Highway and in Waimanalo. He's always willing to show others the importance and seriousness of sign waving and is dedicated to electing Mazie to the Senate.
